In this art lesson we talk about how to finish an abstract artwork. Using an example of student work we discuss: is it finished? How do you know when it’s finished?
I talk about movement and why it’s important to take time to study the work and how our eyes travel through the piece.
We also discuss how to consider and apply negative space in an abstract work.
Lastly, I share a way to see if your work feels balanced.
Now it’s your turn: what helps you decide when your abstract work is complete? Share your ahas and comments below.
Carrie,
Thanks for another accountabilty calendar. I found this very helpful to motivate doing art everyday.
I have not really worked with mixed media, but answered your questions as I would like to try it.
Thanks for the way you keep in touch.
Thanks Mary for being here 🙂 I’m going to update an accountability calendar for 2022 soon! I appreciate your feedback and ideas for my mixed media research <3 The only way I can build things people truly want is by asking YOU! 🙂
Hi Carrie, Thank you for supplying this. It would be my first time downloading this, and it is time for me to organize my time, can’t wait to make more time for my art. I absolutely ready to try it.
Regards,
Sandy
Absolutely Sandy! <3 I'll be sharing one for email subscribers in a future email, too. Keep your eyes peeled!
Thank you Carrie, and Happy Holidays!
